I’ve completed the github education authenification process, save for the last step which is for them to actually give me the student developer pack that is supposed to come shortly afterwards. Supposedly, I can’t be denied at this point, since I already sent in my application and was approved, and it’s been 72 hours give or take since I submitted it.

My academic status was approved after hours, which surely means that at least that part of the process is automated in some way. That said, it’s too bad that such a crucial part of my progress on the portfolio site is being bottlenecked by beurocracy, since the only alternative is paying for another website url out of pocket.

Hopefully I get that free 1 year url soon. The amount of work I’ll have to do to get another website up shouldn’t be too bad but having more wiggle room to make sure it gets done before Monday’s meeting would be great.
